Dryer Vent Inspection in Houston, TX
Call (713) 949-1405What a dryer vent inspection actually involves
The dryer gets pulled out first. We look at the transition piece behind it. Foil and vinyl flex crushed in a shallow utility closet is the most common find. Then the duct gets measured and mapped. Run type matters more than anything else. A 4–10 ft side-wall run through brick or Hardie on a slab ranch behaves nothing like a 20–40 ft attic run with three elbows ending at a roof jack.
Next comes airflow at the termination. We watch the hood or roof-jack flapper while the dryer runs on no heat. Weak flutter means a restriction upstream. A camera goes in where the run allows it. In attics we walk the duct looking for sagging flex holding condensate, because that sag is where lint cements into a damp mat.
Houston adds its own failures. Pollen binds to lint on screened wall hoods. Uncapped hoods take bird and wasp nests. Dryer sheet residue plus humidity leaves a varnish-like film that brushing alone will not lift.
You can pre-check two things. Time a towel load. Stand in the laundry room afterward. Two hours and a hot room usually means the duct, not the dryer.
What Happens After You Call Us
Call and tell us your dryer brand and roughly where the vent exits, roof or side wall. We book a two hour arrival window and text you when the tech leaves.
The tech walks the run first, from the dryer to the termination, and measures airflow at the hood. You get a firm quote out loud before any tool comes off the truck.
We brush and vacuum the full line, reconnect the transition hose with a clamp, run the dryer to confirm the flap opens, and sweep up the lint. You pay the number you agreed to.
