Dryer Vent Hose Replacement in Houston, TX
Call (713) 949-1405Why does the hose behind my dryer keep crushing?
Because the dryer sits too close to the wall. Houston utility closets are shallow. The dryer gets pushed back. Foil or vinyl flex folds into an S. Lint catches on every ridge. That is the transition hose, not the wall duct. It is the part most likely to fail first.
Replacement means rigid or semi-rigid aluminum, kept short and straight. We measure the gap first. Sometimes a periscope box is the only thing that fits. Vinyl flex gets removed, not reused. Foil tape on the joints, no sheet metal screws inside the airstream. Screws catch lint and build a plug.
The hose is rarely the whole story. On slab ranch homes it is a short side-wall run through brick or Hardie. On 1990s–2020s two-stories it is attic flex to a roof jack, with two to four elbows. Sagging attic flex holds condensate. Damp lint cements into a mat at the jack. Replacing eight feet behind the dryer will not fix that.
Check it yourself. Run a towel load and feel the hood outside. Weak flow or a hot laundry room means restriction upstream. Townhome chase runs and garage-ceiling runs need a camera to confirm.
Most single-family homes need a look yearly. Long attic runs, pets, or big families, sooner.
What Happens After You Call Us
Call and tell us your dryer brand and roughly where the vent exits, roof or side wall. We book a two hour arrival window and text you when the tech leaves.
The tech walks the run first, from the dryer to the termination, and measures airflow at the hood. You get a firm quote out loud before any tool comes off the truck.
We brush and vacuum the full line, reconnect the transition hose with a clamp, run the dryer to confirm the flap opens, and sweep up the lint. You pay the number you agreed to.
